Once you’ve decided to enroll your child in a martial arts class, it’s time to decide what type of class would be best. There are plenty of options.

Kung fu, for example focuses on blocking, while aikido teaches practitioners how to use an opponent’s strength to protect themselves. Taekwondo’s teachings center around kicks.

If you’re unsure which class to sign up your child for, begin by enrolling him or her in a mixed martial arts class. This way, he or she will learn the basics of a few different styles.
