Many workout routines run the risk of getting stale after some time. They feel difficult at first, but you eventually build the strength and stamina to complete them with ease. This, unfortunately, can cause exercise plateaus. If you do martial arts, however, increasing the difficulty of your workout doesn’t require a ton of planning.
New and harder challenges are built into a martial-arts curriculum. After you learn one form, you’ll add new ones to your repertoire. Your master will ask you to hold harder stances longer, try new moves and take on more experienced opponents. As such, you’ll continue to push your physical-fitness limits.
However, martial arts also include rewards. As you master techniques that once made you feel clumsy, you’ll realize just how far you’ve come – and that feeling is motivating and satisfying.
